Competition will commence to day and run through August 15th. The unit having the highest number of men participating and the greatest number who pass the test will be awarded a tronhv. There will also be a trophy presented the individual who attains the highest physical fitness score on the field. The schedule which has been set up until Friday, August 3, is bs follows- - 1030th Air Service Squadron, 8 a.m., Squadron "K" 4135th AAF base unit, 9:30 a.m. and the 102nd AACS squadron at 10:15 a.m., on Wednesday. On Thursday at 8 a.m. test will be given the 1028th Air. Service Squadron, Eighth Depot Unit Army, 9 a.m. and the 708th AAF band at 10 a.m. Squadron "H" of the 4135th AAF base unit will compete Friday at 7:30 a.m., WAC officers at 8 a.m. and the 4513th AAF base unit at 9 a.m. This program is under the supervision and direction of Lt. Joe Cunningham. chief of physical training of personnel services section. " Military Plans to Form Tennis Team The first steps have been tak en to form a representative military tennis team from Hill Field with Lt. Joe Moll, former member of the University of Illinois tennis team and recent winner of the Metropolitan competition in Salt Lake City, in charge. The first scheduled match will be a three cornered tourney between Bushnell General hospital, the ASF depot and Hill Field. This tournament will be conduct ed Thursday and Friday et the newly constructed tennis courts at the ASF depot. Lt. Moll and Pfc. Norman H. Levitin of the 1030th air service squadron will participate in singles competition, joining up with Maj. Arthur Wells and Lt. Jack Cuthbertson, comprising th team representing Hill Field, M doubles play. |
