Show Wednesday, June The Helper Journal 2 11, 1975 Reactions few to tax rebates Poo opening due The arrival of federal tax rebates has met with a distinct lack of emotion in Helper, with store operators unable to say whether rebate money has been spent at their establishments, and the Helper State Bank estimating that rebate checks have been split about equally between savings deposits, checking deposits and cash. Most of the checks have already been mailed, according to the Internal Revenue Service, but many taxpayers have apparently been unable to determine how the government computed the amounts. Basically, as long as your taxable income was less than $20,000, the rebate is ten per cent of the tax actually paid in 1974 up to a maximum of $200 or a minimum of $100. The amount of your rebate will be the same as your income tax liability if less than $100. Taxpayers will not receive any rebate of self - employment tax paid. If your taxable income was between $20,000 and $30,000 for 1974, and you paid at least $1000 in taxes, Geno Ori, left, and Van Paletta complete repairs on cracks in the Helper Municipal Pool, scheduled to open some time this week. A new type of sealant was used on the cracks this year. Earlier, a number of cracked pipes were repaired, and now, all that remains is to fill 'er up. lummer rec. schedule Recreation sponsored Summer Schedule, through the Community School Program will begin June 9.
