Show Highway patrol notes changes in traffic laws f .J I If I : A number of significant changes in the state traffic laws were enacted by the state legislature during its 1975 general session, according to Sgt. Dennis Nordf elt of the Price office of the Utah Highway Patrol. Nordfelt said the most important changes came in the following areas: OBSTRUCTION OF VISIBILITY The new law reads, "It shall be the duty of the owner of real property to remove from such property and tree, plant, shrub or other obstruction, or part thereof, which by obstructing the view of any driver, constitutes a traffic hazard." PASSING The law is amended to state that after passing, a vehicle must return to an authorized lane of travel before coming within 200 feet of any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. The new law states that such turns are illegal except when they can be made "in safety and without interfering with other traffic." SIGNALING The new law makes it illegal to flash a signal on one side of a disabled vehicle or as a courtesy or "do pass" to operators of other vehicles approaching from the rear or to signal on one side of a parked vehicle except as required by the law. She was cited for "excellence in typing, bookkeeping, office machine, office practice and a positive attitude." Angela Juliano, 17, right, daughter of Domenic and Jane Juliano of Helper received a certificate for being an outstanding student in shorthand. Helper kids attend special Olympics Helper Junior High students walked off with a total of 11 gold, silver and bronze medals at the state Special Olympics track and field meet held May 16 and 17 in Salt Lake City. The students from Mrs. Marie Greenland's class arrived at Rice Stadium in Salt Lake City Friday and held two events, then returned to the stadium Saturday for the remaining four. Competition was held in the 220 yard dash, 440 yard 50 yard dash, Softball throw, 75 yard hurdles and standing long jump.
