Following the program, Utahna Rebekah Lodge No. 39 of Helper held its regular meeting Monday evening April 27 at the This Helper Auditorium. was a special meeting, Saint Main Street. He asked all clubs to take part in this fund raising drive. District Odd Fellows Lions The Utah State Lions Convention was held in The Eastern Marian Lupo, Margaret Lamoreaux, and Mae Bray. Friday Night Bridge was hosted by Mrs. Virginia Davies at the LaSalle Annex. A dessert luncheon was served before play. Mrs. Clare Halpine was guest for the evening, and winners were Ann Price, Alfa Richardson, and Margaret Lamoreaux. Society celebrated their 20th Anniversary. February of this year. Trooper Wells also gave a short talk about the project the Highway Patrol had to raise funds to purchase a machine "Jaws of Life." as the newly District deputy president, Mrs. Nora Sealey, made her official visitation to the lodge, and gave special instructions to the officers and a very interesting message. The lodge also observed the 156th anniversary of the inasmuch appointed Nielsen. The guest of honor for the Convention was the 3rd International founding of Odd Fellowship in America and paid special tribute to its founder, Vice Thomas Wildey, who with other Broth Odd Fellows, formerly of a lodge in President, Joe McClaughlin of Stanfield, Connecticut. Mr. McClaughlin spoke to 1,500 Lions members and wives from the State of Utah. Washington Lodge No. 1 of Washington, D.C. on April 26, 1819. During the short meeting Mrs. Sealey was installed as Warden and PTA Utah PTA Convention was held in Provo, May 2 and 3. Those attending from this area were: JoAnn Tolich, Linda Hrienson, Rosalie Dimick, LaReen Alice Smith, Twehous, Karen Nielsen, Phyllis Andrus and Jean Mrs. Mary Knobbs as Support to the Vice Grand of the lodge.. Chairman for the evening was Mrs. Mae Snow, who served a delicious lunch at a very pretty table following the meeting. May 12 the president of ESTt E&U&l FTJ Rebekah the students from Region XII were given honorable mention awards in the Reflections Project, "Our Our Heritage, Hopes." Gina Tomsic (Helper Junior High) ; John Dimick (Sally Mauro Elementary). Region XII was also awarded honorable mention for increasing their PTA membership by 50 percent. Regional director, Jean Boyack will be assistant director the Regional following year as Emery County has become active in PTA and are part of the Region XII. Mrs. Fay Thomas from Emery will be Regional director. Bridge Tuesday Bridge met April 29 at the home of Mary Rebol, Hostess. Guest 'for the evening was Mary Pizza. Mrs. Kathryn Merrill, director of nursing at the school said that the "potential nursing student should apply by June 15. The next class will start in September. She added that applications are also being sought from any male students interested in studying to be a male nurse. With the increase in population locally, and an increase in population generally and resultant increase in demand for more medical services, there has been a real demand for nurses. Mrs. Merril said her department has received requests for nurses from as far away as Texas recently. She added that credits at CEU will apply toward Registered Nurse programs at other institutions.
