Central Commission is the only new name to be counted among the sponsors of the four teams in the WBBA Helper league. Frank and Margaret Marrelli took over the sponsorship of this team three years ago, replacing the Helper Furniture Co. Helper Furniture sponsored the team since the beginning of the league in 1952 up until one year after the closing of the Helper store of this company. All other team sponsors, Helper Mercantile, Mutual Furniture and the Helper Kiwanis Club have been with the league since its inception. Thanks to All I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to you, the people of Helper, for your concern and support relating to the appointment of a new Chief of Police. It was my desire to continue to serve the people of Helper in a fair and impartial manner which I have tried to do for the past eleven years. During my eleven years service on the Police department I have never been criticized by the Mayor or the City Council regarding the performance of my duties. I have always tried to conduct myself In a manner conducive to good police work and to gain and hold the respect of all the people I served. The Mayor and City Council have made their decision. Accusations have been made, but it is not my deslreto Involve friends and associates in a mud slinging contest. However, I do wish to state publicly that I have no Intention or reason, to apologize for the actions of any member of my family. Again thanks to all.
