Power Black-O- ut UTAH THURSDAY, City Approves Water Line -- last week approved replacement of the water line and rehabilitating of the springs area in the Spring Creek area, and also approved the recommendations of Neely Engineering Associates of Span ish Fork, for the replacement work. This authorization is contingent upon the city procuring a federal grant in' the amount of about half the estimated cost of about $24,000. Mayor Chris Jouflas stated that the other $24,000 would be taken from current revenues over a three year period of time. City Attorney Stan Litizzette was authorized by the council to negotiate a conract for the work. A Reoonnaissane Report of the project by Neely stated: Scope .The report was prepared to determine the moJifi cations necessary to improve the Spring Creek springs area, collection systems, and transportation line. Area involved The area in consideration involves eleven springs in the Spring Creek hensive study. Criteria Helper City water on two supply is dependent sources: Fish Creek Springs, and Spring Creek Springs. In 1960 the Utah State Board of Health inspected the Spring Creek area and noted that sev eral improvements should bo made in this part of the system in order to insure an acceptable water supply for this area.
