In the spirit of cooperation and for the best interest of the County and cities therein, this condition should not continue. Your reference to the display at the Capitol as being "in a deplorable condition'1 is true. However( in February of this year the Commission instructed the County Clerk B. H. Young, to make arrangements to obtain more space in the Capitol and employ local talent to redesign the display. The Secretary of State advised the Clerk on May 29, 1963, that until remodeling of the Capitol was com pleted, no space would be allocated. The discussion you held on was also very good. For your information, the past and the present Commissions have worked very hard to nush to completion. As you know, the State Road Comm. met fiere in July as a result of a joint request by the Carbon and Emery County Commissions and was cne of the main topics. Fur ther, the Chairman of the Com mission, G. L. Oviatt met with Comm. Francis Feltch in Vernal during August regarding acccl eration of road work in this ? U-3- 3 U-3- 3 U-3- 3 area. At a meeting of the Canyon-land- s Highways Assn. Commissioners Ix)uis Kosec and Oviatt protested the construction of a road from Crescent Jet. to Vernal nd were able to convince the Ass'n., that a route through and was Price via more realistic at this time. No onn else from this area was present. The above mentioned items are brought to your attention in an effort to acquaint you with seme of the projects we are working on.
