In discussing his opposition to Stewart Secretary of Interior Udall's original proposal for setting aside 1 million to 6 million acres of Southeastern Utah for national parks, Sen. Bennett noted that the original proposal would have banned all hunting, mining, prospecting, oil, gas and uranium development, water development and soil conservation, and nearly al! grazing.
