I By JENSEN LA A strange and most uncult is arising in this happy country, and it is steadily gaining greater and greater power. It is the cult of "unionism at and it may well any price" be the cause of the downfall of the small business man in this nation. Why, we keep wondering, do union bosses feel it is absolutely necessary to get every busi- ness unionized, whether the employer and employees of that business want it or not? Why has the cry become "Get em unionized!" . . . when we know all too good and well that there are so many businesses where unions are absolutely unnecessary ? ' Why have unions found it necessary to resort to such unpleasant, damaging and in fact ruinous practices as "organizational picketing"? Everybody is wondering why! Secretary of Labor James Mitchell wondered why recently when he discussed organizational picketing and called it "Blackmail Picketing". President Eisenhower was enough disturbed about it-- to" include it in his message to Congress recently. He questioned the why of union abuses such as organizational picketing by saying that he would do something about "protecting tl IHtHMMMIHII A program commemorating the anium mineGk'.'ina Sheets was a of the Aarcnic Priest-hco- a visitor at the home of Shirkne Farrimond restoration r ' Tula Murphy, Utah Safely Council Secretary, displays various materials to be used in statewide traffic safety push beginning Memorial Day, emphasizing it's up to you, Mr. Motoristl This is the theme of the 1959 pecial traffic campaign which will commence Memorial agencies, civic and businessand other organizations, groups throughout the State and Nation will sponsor and promote be program throughout the sum mer season. While this argument sounds interesting, it dresn't hold up. Take, for instance, the automobile. Advertising through the ;'ars has made our; a nation on wheels. And working along with advertising has been the installment buying method, which has enabled many millions to buy cars and thereby improve their living standards. ' ' U. S.
