The students were Fred Regis and Elmer Richards, student council officers; Richard Duke, tenth grade; San-d- rr VanNatta, ninth grade; Dale Held, eighth grade; Jane Miller, senth grade. The students visited six classes. They were introduced to the faculty and their method of teaching. After dinner they were entertained by going to a matinee dance. All in all the students had a very enjoy- atole time. The council has planned for further exchange with Noire Dame and Price. - 7, I 1955 through the kitchen on a tour. She showed us the large pressure cooker, the stove which has two large ovens, the storage room, and the refrigerator. She told us how she had to toe sure a certain amount of vitamins were in each dish every day. She said that she usually plans the lunches ahead for the following week. She also told us that every once in a while a lady comes to inspect the kitchen. We thank Mrs. Rogers for a wonderful excursion. Lorraine Olson THE OLD SPANISH TRAIL We started our trip in an Arrow Auto Lines bus which left Price about 9 a.m. March 31. Gary Turner. We ramped at a ranch just above New Castle. We were told it was to be a 35 mile hike. We found out afterwards that this was as the crow flies. We went the first .18 miles with only the water in our canteens. Some of the boys drank all the water in their canteens without thinking and were very thirsty the rest of the day. The only animals we saw were rabbits, black birds and crows. We camped the first night on the trail at the place Jacob Hamblin settled. The next morning we found an unmarked pio neer grave in the sage brush. We also visited the place where the Mountain Meadow Massacre took place. Next we toured Zion National Park and headed for home, having spent four days on the trip.
