Johnson, rural rehabilitation supervisor for the Farm Security in administration Carbon and Emery counties, the rural rehabilitation loans in this section are running slightly above the average. The standard loans are chiefly for horses, milk cows. seed, machinery, water assessments, range cattle and range permits. The loans for seed have been necessary n many cases because of the poor sale of hay. During the past three weeks 20 new standard loans have been approved, and more are awaiting action of the committee. Four machinery loans, two for around $2000 each and two for $500 each. have been applied for also. Many supplemental loans are also being made, these running about $150 on the average. The standard loans average about $750. Of $136.- 00 loaned in this district last year. has already-bee$18,500 approximately repaid. Mr. Johnson declared this Is a particularly splendid showing in view of the fact that many of the clients would have been rorcea upon relief had it not been for the loans. The loans made it possible for many of them to stay on their own feet.
