Edwards was gathering coal on the tracks at the time and had just stepped from behind a mov ing westbound freight directly into the path of the oncoming eastbound train. The impact threw the victim clear of the tracks and crushed him. The incident at Castilla brings back the killing instantaneously last October of Mrs. R. Ward of New Peerless, who was walking down the main line tracks at while a westbound freight was coming up the other right of way. An eastbound freight just 'rounding the curve on which Mrs. Ward was walking at the time, was unable to stop in time to avert the accident which resulted in the death of Mrs. Ward. This brings in again the warning of local railroad officials to "GET OFF TRACKS" when any train passes, regardless of wheth' er you can see anymore or not. When you are near any line of the railroad, keep clear of the tracks when a train passes. You may only see one train but the noise or three or four others' is easily confused with one in such instances. The Edwards accident was the second of its kind in Utah county thin year. John Smith, 7f a res ident of the county infirmary for several years, was killed January 8 by a Union Pacific train hist north of Provo.
