VVBBA Helper Merc, Commission teams evenly matched Teams in the Helper WBBA loop this season are very evenly matched as the league standings indicate and two of them in the thick of the competition are the Central Commission squad and the Helper Merc team. Central Commission, under Jim playing Cochrane and Alan Keller as managers, was a single game behind the league leading Mutual Furniture when the teams took the n vacation break over the Fourth of July holdiay. From all indications the second half race, which will end July 20th, will be just as close as the first half when three teams, Mutual Furniture, Helper Merc and Central Commission, battle each other all the way. Actually the meet will be two tournaments in one involving five teams, three of them playing in one bracket and two playing in another bracket, the latter a simple two of three game all-st- ar playoff. The winner of the regional meet, the site of which will be decided later, wins a berth in the "Little World Series of WBBA" at Idaho Falls, Ida., August 14 through 17. Last year a reunion of the 1943 team was held conjunction with the game.
