"Red" Knohhs (Democratic Candidate for Sheriff) Advertisement Political Paid HELPtR STRAND Where tne UTAK 5 DECORATION PRIMARY LAW In order that a full understanding ot the new direct primary election law may be gained by the voters of this district, the Helper Journal presents here and in subsequent issues the law as it appears on the statute books (sections which convey information necessary for the electors to have in order to understand the workings of the measure): The Silver Throated in a Boy You Lov Thrilling Adventure in the South Seas! ... of Persons Seeking Nomination Any qualified elector who is a member of a political party and who has affiliated with and supported the nominees of the political party at whose hands he seeks the nomination shall have his name printed on the official ballot of his party for any office to which he is eligible in any primary election, upon filing with the proper officer, within the time provided by law( a nomination petition or an acceptance of nomination. Filing Fees Any candidate filing a nomination paper or acceptance as provided in this act shall pa to the filing officer a fee for such filing. The fee to be paid shall be per cent of the total salary for the full-terlegally or customarily paid by such office to the person holding the same, but such fe-- shall not be less than five dollars, except filings for all precinct offices and for the position of voting precenct committeeman shall be one dollar. The secretary of state shall apportion to and pay to the countv treasurers of the various counties all fees received by him for fling of nomination certificates or r.cceptances. Said secretary of state shall apportion said fees as follows: Each county shall receive that proportion of the total amount paid in to the secretary of state which the total vote of said county for renreS' entative in congress bears to the to tal vote of the state or district for the same office. Payment of Expenses The expense of providing all ba) lots, blanks, or other supplies to be used at primary election provided by this act and all expenses necessarily incurred In the preparation for or the conduct of such primary election shall be paid out of the treasury of the county or state, as the case may be, in the same maflner. with like effect and by the same officers as iD the case of November elections.
