STRAND Helper, Utah "Whero tne Big Picture During the past few weeks opinions and ideas have been floating iu and around Helper at random. The topic of conversation being chiefly Helper's new Civic Auditorium; the use it is being put to, whether it is paying for its use and what could be done to make it a more . proposition. After listening to all these comments, and paying particular attention to the individuals who are doing the suggesting. This thought seems to be paramount in the minds of most Interested people: What our auditorium lacks now, are facilities that can be used by some of the older people, or those who are not interested in playing basketball. A bowling alley takes preference over most ideas. More gymnasium equipment, is another thought. This includes, mats, dumb-bellweights, etc. It is the common belief of citizens of Helper who have expressed themselves as favoring these ideas, that if the auditorium were equipped with any or all of these attractions, that it would become a simple thing to start a membership drive for an athletic club. The dues would assist in making payments on equipment, or interest on the bonded indebtedness of the city for building the edifice. Members of the city council are desirous of learning just what the public sentiment is relativa to these ideas. Contact a councilman or use the Helper Journal to express your views. Everyone in Helper realizes and appreciates the job finished by the old city council, in securing the many recently Improvements they have for our city. We should, at the same time, realize that the new officials have the job of carrying on where they left off. Before the desired effect wa3 achieved the bed fell to pieces a dozen times, not to mention the poor occupant. All in all.
