Baseball Practice Scheduled Sunday "All aspirants for the Helper baseball team are called to action for the opening practice cf the year," says Ernest Flaim, secretary of the club. She was in the room of McCracken's home at the time of the shooting. With five bullets in his body, McCracken was carried to a hospital, where his wife was the trained nurse assigned to care for him. The motive of French's actions was attributed to bitterness between the rival newspapers. McCracken was formerly Trib une, Associated Press, correspondent in eatsern Utah and was as reporter for the employed one of the Price publications in 1928 until 1929. He was well known by Carbon county residents and while residing here showed considerable interest in sports. He was employed by Mrs. Grace cooper who owned Since "Mac" as many knew him here, left the old he was engaged widely in free lance writing and has written copy on several Texas dailies and the San Francisco Call.
