HELPER JOURNAL - Helper, Utah, Friday, October ' lvr il s f. ABE MURDOCH RECORD THE For a candidate in any precinct, or in any county, to obtain a larger number of straw votes than Franklin D. Roosevelt is a real distinction. For a candidate for congress to obtain a larger number than the President in the first district is a distinction of Abe Murdock, Democratic nominee for congress. But there is a reason. Abe Murdock has made good. He has been on the job. He has played the game. He has served the electors of his district faithfully, and he has served them well.. To the President he gave his unstinted and enthusiastic support. To Iabor he gave both his influence and his votes. To Agriculture he gave his friendly cooperation and support. Congressman Murdock aggressively supported the Farm Credit, Resettlement and Conservation programs. He backed the AAA, the veterans of Foreign Wars, mining and labor legislation. Moreover, he fought just as hard for the small business men in congress as he did for the mining, agricultural and labor interests. Unanimously elected chairman of the Rocky Mountain group of congressmen during the 74th session, he is in a position to wield an influence in the deliberations of that body which will be of untold benefit to his state and nation. With Abe Murdock in congress Utah and the President have a friend, a supporter and a him would be a colossal blunder. champion.
