MOTORISTS PINCHED State Patrolmen Arthur Heav-ene- r and Vern Davis announced Wednesday that 25 Carbon County motorists were arrested and convicted of traffic infractions during the past week. Report Made on State NRS Marked Increases were registered in employment by private industry and the PWA in Utah during the two week period ending March 31, according to figures released today by Thomas R. Faddis, associate state director of the National Service, and sent to D. C. Cavenah, County manager of the NRS. Compared with the two weeks ending March 17, the gains in employment on March 31 amounted to 90 per cent with private indus try and to 33 per cent with the PWA. The NRS found jobs for 159 more workers during the two weeks ending March 31 than during the two weeks preceding, but 1337 more people were seeking work on the latter date than on the former. "The rise in employment by pri vate industry and by the PWA is gratifying," said Mr. Faddis, "but it is not yet great enough to meet the increase in unemployment as a whole. It is to be hoped that in- dustrial activity on the part of these two groups will advance enough in the near future to at least halt the increase in unemployment totals."
