PRICE Expenditures totaling $116,336.62 have been made from the relief fund created nine years ago to aid dependents of the 172 men killed in the Castle Gate mine explosion on March 8, 1924. The report of the fund's distribution for the nine years ended May 31 was issued Monday. A balance of $16,009.76 is shown in the report. The sum of $112,649.94 was raised by popular subscrition. The fund was invested and has earned interest amounting to $19,696.44, making a total of $132,346.33 available for relief. All of the principal has been spent and the committee is now distributing the interest. At the present time 31 families with 76 children are being aided, as compared to 106 families with 249 children at the time the fund was created. Future disbursement of the fund has now been so arranged as to continue thru until 1935 and members of dependent families have been advised to arrange their affairs so they will be selfsupporting after that time.
