R. Loftis, train master at this point, and the prospects of a worthwhile fall and win ter business now seem assured. The following railroad reports and notes have been prepared by William Ross, chief clerk to Mr. Loftis: Thru fruit business is increasing, especially fruit from the Pacific coast. A large part of the fruit business is California grapes enroute to eastern markets, with some pears from Oregon, melons, and heavy shipments of sugar. Also some shipments of green toma toes, carrots and onions. The thru freight business is heavier than it has been for some months. It is expected that additional switch engines (at least one) will be necessary to handle the coal business at Helper as soon as cold weather arrives and coal production increases accordingly. Proposed Train Increase Increased train service has been proposed as follows: Seven beet trains, two of these between and Salt Lake, one between Salt Lake and Thistle, including branches, and three runs on the Marysvale branch in the Salina, Manti and Gunnison district. This will mean an increase in number of men now working of 7 engineers, 7 firemen, 14 brakemen, 7 Og-de- n oramen s Merc. FREE-Bet- ty b.
