In the absence of the jouflas family, the fire gained headway and burned for several minutes before neighbors discovered and reported it, letting the building burn almost to the ground before the fire department could arrive on the scene. Because of the fact that thousands of persons thruout the nation are in dire want, and because local sources have been drained heavily in the caring for families without employment, it has been deemed unwise, even verging on the criminal, to take several hundreds of dollars worth of s and shoot them off in a brief burst of flame and smoke. The committee on entertainment has studied this phase very carefully, and believes that most people will appreciate the stand they have taken. The money, which would have to be raised thru subscription, can better be used in the car ing of needy families of Carbon county. Dr. Joe Dalpaiz, in charge of the program committee, has furnished us the following sequence of events for the day: salute at daybreak Parade, 9:30 to 11:30 Band concert.
