Mot Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Thomas Lewis, 69, Gold Star mother of Carbon county and honorary member of the Springville Legion auxiliary were held Tuesday afternoon with interment in the Spanish Fork cemetery. "Mother" Lewis as she woe affectionately known to her host of Carbon county friends, died Saturday at the home of Janet Gogarty in Springville. where she had made her home since re turning from the trip to France with the Gold Star mothers last July. She made her home in Sunnyside for many years prior to her trip abroad last year. Mrs. Lewis was born at Denials, South Wales, March 20, 1861. She came to Utah in 1879 and married John Lewis in the St. George temple in 1880. Surviving are her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Violet Kay of Columbia and Mrs. Sadie Austin, North Bend, Oregon.
