In the first game played Wednesday morning, John Corey, Helper "mind," banged out two beautiful home runs and a triple bagger to lead the attack in the fourth inning that seemed to give the boys an edge which they maintained throughout though the score was tied temporarily in the eighth. Billy Dietz struck out 11 men in this game and allowed but seven hits. The second game proved to be a thriller as well and a large crowd of followers gathered to support the Helper entry. The Helper crew managed to gain the lead by the seventh with one run advantage. This did not last long, as a wild thrown from Diet, to Van Natta on first cost a two run lead and tied the score at the end of the ninth. Two extra innings were thus made necessary and the teams were pretty well worn out. At the end of the 10th inning, the teams were still tied, but in the first of the 11th, Helper went on a booming campaign and subdued the visitors entirely by chasing in 8 runs dur ing the inning.
