Show Farmers Round-Up Big Drawing Card Through the cooperation of the Gunnison and Centerfield Farm Bureaus, Bu-reaus, the farmers "Round-up" j which was scheduled for the first of .March, and which was postponed in- i definitely on account of influenza raging throughout the state, will be held in the two towns next Monday and Tuesday. Definite plans for the two-day session were completed Wednesday Wed-nesday evening and through the Agricultural Ag-ricultural College Extension Division, eminent speakers will be here. Monday's Mon-day's meeting will be held at Center-field Center-field meeting house, the morning session convening at 10 o'clock and the afternoon meeting being held at 2 o'clock. Those who will be here from the Agricultural College are. Dr. Frank Harris, Dr. W. E. Carroll, and Mrs. Otte.' Dr. Harris will talk on "Sugar Beet Growing, Growing Alfalfa, and Proper Irrigation of Field Crops." Dr. Carroll's subject will be "Feeding of Livestock and Judging of Livestock." There will be a practical demonstration in connection connec-tion with Dr. Carroll's talk. Mrs. Otte, who will talk at the afternoon sessions only, will use as her theme, "Problems of the Home." Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon af-ternoon the same program as is scheduled for Centerfield on Monday will be given at Guunison and the meetings are to be held at the Relief Re-lief Society hall, at 10 in the morning morn-ing and at 2 in the afternoon. It is of vital importance that all inlerested in the betterment of agricultural ag-ricultural pursuits and the home attend at-tend the meetings as much can bo gained from hearing the eminent speakers and with the cooperation of all at the meeting the best of results are sure to follow. The committees in charge of the affair are: Chairman committee on arrangements. Fred J. Fjeldsted; chairman committee on publicity, T. M. Kearns; chairnir.il committee on livestock. Clifford Childs. The holding of the "Round-up" in Ihe two cities, the first for many years, should be an incentive for every ev-ery farmer and stock raiser in the valley to make it a point to "get in ine"' and make the event one long lo be remembered. With the vasl amount of knowledge that will be gained from (he addresses on the various subjects anil the very fact i hat the meeting will tend to bring all closer together for Ihe hcllermenl of conditions, should inspire everyone every-one in the valley to be present at Ihe meetings. |
