That you use them properly Before you turn or change lanes before you stop (unless it’s an emergency) make sure that you can do so safely and then tell other drivers or pedestrians what you intend to do by giving the proper signal because if you do not you may get hit — or may In other words Wit someone else failure to signal is the "makings” for an accident Signals to be given at least 100 feet before you turn consist of the arm out and upward for a right turn arm extended straight out for a left turn and arm out and downward for a stop or decrease in speed Signals to be useful must be made before you start the turn The horn on our car is another signal — to be used for warning purposes — and it is not intended to take the place of the brake Sallna Auction Sales Report Get It Now While High School This year Is his first in Agriculture and FFA The first of the year he was elected to the ‘Green Hand’ degree and next year he will become a Chapter Farmer In the recent election of the new chapter officers Kirby was elected secretary and will start serving in that office May 1st when the new officers are installed Being a first year student in Agriculture Kirby has done very well in h'is supervised farming program His present program is as follows: 1 Holstein cow 2 yearling heifer calves one new born heifer calf and one pig His Holstein cow is on its second Lacation period and Will produce close to 400 pounds of butterfat during this time Durof this cow ing his possession she has had two calves both heifers The sire of the last calf was a high grade bull which is owned by Wisconsin College This bull was artifically bred to his cow Kirby says that he believes that artificial breeding produces the best calves and in the future he will use this method Kirby plans to raise his three heifer calves and with the money he makes from them he will buy more and better stock In addition to this Kirby has a sow pig As yet he has not decided whether to sell her at the June show or keep her as a brood sow Next year he is going to rent five acres of land from his father and grow mixed grain and hay or perhaps sugar beets In the future he will keep improving and enlarging his projects and is now planning on applying for the Star State Farmer Degree and after this will try to become an American Farmer Through the continued help and guidance of his parents and FFA we are sure he will obtain the goals he seeks Now that parlimentary procedure is over most of the chapter members seem to be getting quite an interest in judging of livestock This is because they are trying to get on the different judging teams which will be entered 'in the state judging contests in May As of now interest has been shown in only 4 different teams but there will probably be more teams entered in the contest The Interested teams are as follows: Dairy Judging General Livestock Judging Meats Team and Poultry team Small Red Delicious Apples lb 10c Swifts Sweet Rasher Bacon lb 69c
