Show County Roads Put In Winter Shape Through the instrumentality of Junius Metcalf, chairman of the Sanpete San-pete board of county commissioners, and who retires after the first of the coming year, some $1,250 have been expended in improving important county roads in this section. Some $300, spent on the road leading to the depot from the state highway, and which has been completed, has put that thoroughfare in high-class condition. This section was graveled and leveled and is just a little better than some of the state roads. Another impprovement, that of re-graveling re-graveling the Westview-Clarion county coun-ty road, has been finished, and the residents of the westside will be enabled en-abled to negotiate this road in cars or wagons at all times of the year. A small stretch of county-road leading lead-ing west of Fayette, was also in the program aranged by Mr. Metcalf. Some $225 was expended on this program. pro-gram. In all instances the work was done by local labor and the $1,250 was impartially distributed among those most in need of work. |
