Show DEATH SUMMONS JUDGE CHERRY. Judge A. N. Cherry succumbed, following fol-lowing a gradual failing in health the last three months, at Ocean Park,Cal., Sunday last, aged 71. Judge Cherry made a host of friends during his brief sojourn in Gunnison, where he came from Salt Lak3 about three years ago and resumed the practice prac-tice of law. Until his recent illness deceased was among the foremost of the community com-munity in the encouragement of education, edu-cation, to which he was a devoted friend. He pleaded incessantly for the welfare of our high school since its incipiency, also contributing liberally to its library. As a mark of respect to Mr. Cherry the flag was unfurled at half-mast over the high school building Wednesday, the day of his funeral, and memorial exercise were held in the afternoon by the student body. ' A number of citizens attended the funeral at Mount Pleasant from this city. |
