Wednesday afternoon from the ward meetinghouse at 2 o'clock was held the funeral service over the remains re-mains of Mrs Ellen Hosenvall Keister, whose death occured at the family home in St. Maries. "Mrs. Keister was the mother of one child, a daughter Lottie about thirteen thir-teen years of age. who with Mr, j.Keister are left to mourn the loss of ia loving and devoted wife and mother j "She also leaves her mother, three j sisters and two brothers togreive for her. "She w as 39 years of age and was a native of Sweden, coming to this country with her parents when she; was rive years old. The family settled set-tled at G unnison. Utah, where they -still reside. She was married 1o G.M. Keister in Salt Lake City, and they-meved they-meved here four or fiv e years ago. "She was an earnest Christian and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Spokane, but there being be-ing no church of thatdenomination I Kasmusson u ho alsj conducted the I services. White crape and a number ' of pots of beautiful flowers, arranged by Mrs Lottie Roper of the Relief society, lent a solemnity most impressive im-pressive to the goodly number who assembled on the occasion to pay respect re-spect to the departed, Remains were brought for burial in Gunnison, former home of the deceased de-ceased and that of her mother, Mrs. Anna L. Rosenvall and two brothers, Kmil and Erick. Mrs. Sophia Steiuer of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Hannah Anderson An-derson and Mrs. Lillie Anderson, both of Ashton, Idaho, are the three sisters of the decedent. All of these paid respect .to the departed by their presence. The bereaved husband, G.M. Keister accompanied by his daughter -and only child, made the journey here with the remains. A painful regret was the daughter's illness, contracted contract-ed on the journey, that kept her from attending the funeral of her beloved and departed mother. In compliance to request from the relatives the following account, published pub-lished Feb. 6, in the St. Maries Record of Mrs. Keister's demise is here reproduced: .... "Ellen It. Keister, wife of G. M.-Keister M.-Keister died at eight o'clock Wednesday Wednes-day morning of peritonitis of the bowels. She had been sick for about ten days, but her condition was not-considered not-considered serious until last Monday at which time she took to her bed. "She grew rapidly worse and Tuesday Tues-day a consultation of doctors was held but nothing could be done for her. "Mrs. Keister's old home was at Gunnison, Utah, and her mother, three sisters and two brothers still reside re-side there and at the request of these relatives Mr. Kiester took the remains there for burial leaving with them and his daughter Lottie for that city this morning. "The remain's were accompanied to the train by the members of the Eagle lodge, who also acted as pall bearers, and delegations from the Odd Fellows and from the Rebekah lodge, of which Mr. Keister is also a member. "There were many floral offerings from the different lodges, the ladies aid society of the Methodist church |
