Show LOCAL ECHOES. W. E. Tollestrup of this city, at the instance of the Salina Co-operative Mercantile institution lias been appointed by Judge Joseph H. Erick- son as receiver for the Jewish Agricultural Agri-cultural and Colonial association at Clarion. The colony has been in operation oper-ation the last five years and has not been a paying proposition. The Home Economics association met in the R. S. Halllast Monday afternoon, intending in connection with the regular program to reorgan-j reorgan-j ize for the ensuing year. On account of poor attendance at the meeting selection of new officers was postponed post-poned two weeks until the next meeting. The Misses Vera and Lea Swalberg are visiting with relatives in this city and Fayette, from Le Grand, Oregon The Misses Swalberg are daughters of the late 0. A. Swalberg, Jr formerly of this city. They are home guests of their uncle, Bishop Swalberg Swal-berg during their stay of a fortnight. The high school has attained a quite satisfactory enrollment, over thirty students being registered for the third ear course. The various classes are organized and doing effective effec-tive work, the freshman under Or-val Or-val Barnes, the sophomore under Wendell Perkins, and the junior under un-der Rex Erickson. The student body organized for the season, last Friday and some interesting doings will be provided as the school work pro-j gresses. A four year course is talked of for next year.
