Show Torpedo Exploded on Man's Head. Denver. A railroad torpedo, used to stop trains when the tracks are blocked, effectually stopped Claude Hackney. Riding on the rear plat ;form of a special train carrying an Eagles' picnic crowd from South Platte to Denver. Hackney became embroiled with Tom Brennan. whe seized a trainman's lantern and struck Hackney over the head with it. fi torpedo attached to the lantern struck Hackney's forehead and exploded, tearing out one eye and injuring him so badly that recovery is doubtful. |
