My dear General McGlachlin: To the officers and men of the 1st Division, I wish to express my compliments upon their excellent appearance at the inspection and review on M; at Montdidier. The high morale of all ranks and the condition of the artilery and transportation were what one might expect to find in a command with such a splendid fighting record. The 1st Division has the distinction of having been the first combatant unit to arrive in France and the first to enter the fighting line. In the battle the division was twice thrown into the line, on October 1st,, at which time it pushed forward in spite of heavy resistance, and on Novemebr 5th, when, after a march of 20 kilometers to reach the jumping-of- f line ,it attacked the enemy and marched on Sedan. PUT NEW LIFE IN YOUR OLD SHOES LET US Matt Leonetti was the only manager of the Modern Shoe Repairing Co., which he built to its present proportions. He started in business in Nowtown in Tooele five years ago; with Ida experience and good work, built up a good business, afterwards he opened up the shop in Old Town on ninth Main Street, which later was moved to Vine Street where it is giving service and satisfaction to all the people of IVmele City and .Tooele County. We do not advertise like others that they were man--agers of the Modern Shoe Repairing Co. If they had been managers why do they now start business with the trust of Salt Lake City to cut prices to get business. The Modern Shoe Repairing will continue and not let any trust competitor have their own way. The Modern is equipped with machinery to do as good work as any shop in Tooele. fflioes sent by Flared Post will be returned next day C. O. D. Modern Shoe MATT LEONETTI, Prop.
