Show I J , Society lias hn a relapse .o tjio tfanoirtg fever 1 1 since the masked ball, which was such a splendid success, and the main eyent for the holidays will , ; ,j be a subscription dance which will take plaoe ! New Year's week, and which will be under the dl- ' ; rection of Mrs. Walter Filer, Mrs. Arthur Cal- " I ; , laghan, Mrs. Ernest Bambergor, Mrs. Robert ; I r GouldSmith, Mrs. Frank Judge, Miss Anna Mc- 1 : Cornick, Miss Katheryn Geddes and Miss Kath- ! 1 eryn Judge. ' 1 I Then the bachelors, that is to say a consider- f able number of them, will give an elaborate din- , 8 I ner dance in January, and any number of smaller ''ff affairs have been planned, so with the Christmas j v ordeal over, there will be enough to addle the ' f , social bumps of memory for some time to come. ' : Thei'e has been a very noticeable absence of ' j j large dinners tills month, which chiefly distin- Sh guished the season a year ago, but there's a rea- fii ' ' son, for most of the dinners were given by the 1 , chief monuments in the local copperopolis. It's not entirely funny to note what a difference just lij a few months make, but there's a good time com- lj -ingj.so oheor up. Besides, the little dinners-are Mr the most sport, and there are so mnny of these ' S'j cosy affairs nowadays that the time is profitably ft I spent by most of the busiest folks, even if the i 1 repasts do not attain the publicity given large ftj affairs which are so freely advertised in the press f 1 : beforehand, and by the tabbies afterwards, jfj The marriage of Miss Nell Sutton and Mr. ). . Earl Dunshee took i)lace Wednesday afternoon, ; a . the Rev. P. A. Slmpkin ofli elating. The ceremony 1 1 .. was attended only by the relatives and a few I ' friends, but later a large reception was given. ft The rooms were beautifully . decorated in 1 1 1 Christmas colors, and the affair was complete in 1 every detail. Elaborate plans have been made to make the Commercial club banquet the finest affair that has c-ver been given by the club. The Alta club members also threaten to stir things up with their smoker, and as both events will transpire on Saturday evening, Sunday will probably be a popular day In the country. 5 & & Mrs. Henry La Motte entertained delightfully at an informal tea on Wednesday in honor of her sister, Miss Simpson, who will spend the holidays at the La Motte home. 6 & & Col. and Mrs. T.
