Show THE ROAD TO YESTERDAY. H There is a road .to yesterday M A wondrous thoroughfare, H Where wanton breezes Idly play 'H And blossoms scent the air. H EE It stretches long and far and straight; H It wanders up and down; H it passes many an open gate iH And many a little town. !H There is a road to yesterday; The grasses grow beside, And trees that spread and swing and sway H And shade tno pathway wide. FH Its flowers aie a goodly sight, H And it goes on and on 1 And leads to many a starry night jM And many a cloudless dawn. jH There is a road to yesterday, And we may trace its gleam in flecking shade or dancing lay H Upon some little stream; H Or we may cee it, when, with eyes H Half closed, we hear a song jH That calls up many a glad sunrise IH And many a twilight long. H There is a road to yesterday, !H And each one knows its start H The portal to this wondrous way H Is held within the heart; H i'rom there me pleasant courses lead H as lar as one can see H It rests on many a golden deed IH And many a memory.
