In the evening a wedding supper H was served at the Coponing home on E. South H Temple street to the members of the two families. H The living rooms were prettily decorated with a H profusion of pink and white carnations and in Hj the center of the supper table was a basket of !pink roses and feathery ferns. Mr. and Mrs. Plngree left on a late train for Montana and Idaho toBpend their honeymoon. The bride wore. H s for a going-away suit, a handsome combination H of brown velvet and broadcloth trimmed with H bands of seal fur and a brown turban with touches H m COMPLIMENTING Mrs. Joel NIbley, who recently returned from the east, Mrs. Ituel G. H Halloran entertained at a prettily arranged lunch- H eon Wednesday afternoon at the home of her H mother, Mrs. Matthew Cullen on E. Fifth South H street. The luncheon table was effectively deco- H rated with early spring flowers and a dozen guests H were hidden to meet Mrs. Nibley. Mrs. Halloran j entertained about a dozen friends at another H luncheon on Thursday. H MRS. H. N. MAYO received a cablegram from , Major Mayo in Brest, France, where he is H chief surgeon in base hospital No. 98, that he ex- H pects to leave for America Boon. Lieut. Wood- BJ ford B. Mayo, the young son of Major and Mrs. W Mayo, is one of the surgeons stationed at the con- H valescent camps in France. Mrs. Mayo and their H little son are spending the winter with her par- H ents, Dr. and Mrs. John Manger, in Baltimore H The many friends of Mrs. Ned Woodruff (Miss H Ethae Mayo) will bo glad to learn that she is con- H, valescent at a hospital in Waco, Tex., after an H attack of influenza. Pratt. The reading by Mrs. C. H. Blanchard from M " her latest book, "Carita," was a feature. Mrs. D. H W. Deason contributed original poems. ANNOUNCEMENT is made of the marriage of Miss Florence Valentine of Brigham. City and Major J. Leo Parkinson of this city. The wedding took place Tuesday afternoon in the Salt Lake temple. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Joseph Christensen, and the couple left within an hour for Camp Shelby, Mississippi, where Major Parkinson is stationed as inspector general of division divi-sion 101, U. S. A. Major Paikinson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Parkinson of this city and is West Point graduate. Duiing the war he was promoted to the general army staff at Washington and has since been on inspection duty at various army camps.. The bride was a nurse at the L. D. S. hospital and the romance which developed into marriage began three years ago, when Major Parkinson was ill and under her care in the hospital. Mrs. Parkinson Park-inson is the daughter of Mrs. Sophia Valentine of Brigham City. Plans for the wedding were arranged while Major Ma-jor Parkinson was at home on a brief leave. LIEUT. IRA C. BEHRENS has arrived from France to join his wife and baby here. Mrs. Behrens was formerly Miss Louise Wey and is with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Fred Wey. Lieutenant Behrens is at present at the reconstruction recon-struction hospital at Fort Douglas recovering from wounds received in action. Mrs. Stephen Shingleton entertained the members mem-bers of the Wednesday Social club at her home on Fern street. Luncheon was served at 1 o'clock and the afternoon hours were spent in sewing. The club members are Mrs. Frank Corless, Mrs. William Beers, Mrs. George Paramore, MrB. T. J. Nelson, Mrs. W. H. Cheshire, Mrs. John Gruber, Mrs. Olson, Mrs. W. K. Murdock, Mrs. Stephen Shingleton and Mrs. Fred Simons. The Association of Collegiate Alumnae met with Mrs. F. J. Gustln, 1172 East First South street Wednesday afternoon. The hostesses for the afternoon were the alumnae of Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa colleges and universities: Mrs. Gustln, Mrs. F. E. Marcy, Mrs. J. A. Hogle, Mrs. Oscar M. Kuchs, Mrs. Retta Casady, Mrs. S. J. Marferding, Miss Eva Bechtel and Miss Harriet Wilson. Mrs. George Barrows entertains on Saturday evening at her home, 309 S. Seventh East street, in honor of Mrs. E. O. Leatherwood, past matron of the Eastern Star, and the officers of the lodgo who served under Mrs. Leatherwood last year. A number of interesting features have been planned for tho evening, including a program of toasts. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe H. Hanauer received informally in-formally Wednesday evening at their home in the Maryland apartments in honor of Mrs. Rosa Roth-child Roth-child of St. Paul, Minn., who is a guest at the Hanauer home. Mis. Ira K. Humphrey and little daughter, Betty Mary, have arrived from Camp Funston, where Captain Humphrey is stationed, and will be jM at the Hotel Utah for a week before joining Mrs. jo Humphrey's father, J. B.
