Paragraphs By V ffa Johns AS ONE RAVING National Apple Week Nor Is the present age so lawless and wilful that It entirely disregards the clear voice that speaks as with author lty tho It Is often accused of so being But there has grown upon men an ever Increasing regard for that man who speaks as one having information The age that has produced today's marvels of science wants to know why things are and how they come to be The farmer wants to know how bacteria enriches the soli The housewife wants to know why yeast makes bread rise Every man wants to know how germs spread disease Every man wants to know and has a right to know how and why compliance with any given standard of personal conduct is going to make him a better or worse member of society Consequently the present age can be saved from the results or wrong doing by the prophet who speaks as one having Information To thus speak he will have to state facts and figures He will have to quote reasons that ring true to the mind Such a prophet questioning will not find youth heedless of his counsel Safety and progress come only to the questioning seeker of knowledge The tender years at which the young people of today seem to sense this truth Is undoubtedly one of the remarkable and distinguishing characteristics of our present civilization To Be Celebrated long Andrus Is now reported to be regaining her health and
