School Heads NEW PREXY On Principl es Events Planned To Raise Money For $16,000 Project Deficit STATE ROAD Stand Firm OF COUNCIL The Student Council of Cyprus high school desires to make following statements concerning the recent events which have brought unfavorable publicity to our school: 1. We feel that similar protest meetings have also happened in other high schools, and it was unfortunate that someone phoned to the city papers and had a reporter obtain information which resulted in an unfavorable report even to the using of students' names. 2. As a Council, we were not fully aware of the many new students who had recently enrolled at Cyprus and of our responsibility to see that they are made welcome and properly oriented. JVe have already taken steps toward carrying out this responsibility. 3. A demonstration of protest is neither the proper way lev students to get facts nor the proper way to appeal for Justice. It is also contrary to Article VIII of Section One which reads: 'Any member of this organisation who performs any act or gives support to any act which tends to induce or provoke a riot or acts of insubordination, shall be considered as acting against the objectives and interests of this organisation." This by-lawas also accepted by the Granite Board of Fducitiftn, Inasmuch as this bylaw has again been violated, we fed that the Board of Education should be more severe in the application of tho penalty so that we may all realise the seriousness of the violation of this by-laand no one will ever again bo tempted to cause Cyprus to nfce unfavorable the 3L Unfortunate Incident gretted by Teachers And Students TAKES STEP Re- Several Contests and Raffles Announced To Promote Interest In Community Recreational Site ON CRASHES A decision w reached Monday evening by Ihe Magna Swimming Pool Committee that the grand, formal opening of ihe and sought pool will be held Saturday, April 30th.
