Read It in The Timet or Leader Tomorrow a Guru Peering into the future is always a fascinating pasttime, but usually that is what it amounts to. Few people can forsee accurately what is going to happen tomorrow, let alone next year or ten years hence. All the prophet can do is to judge by the trends of today the direction in which events are now heading. Something may turn up tomorrow to change the trend and discredit the prophet Stingy With Praise There are two short words that make the world run smoother than any other Thank You! No money will do so much as praise. We see this in children. Praise to a child is the best of all rewards. And we never grow up in this respect So learn to say, Thank you." The words denote a gracious spirit as well as a grateful heart. They bespeak a generous attitude that would not withhold praise fronr those who deserve it And nc praise is never wholly undeserved. Too many of us take too much for granted. We have been conditioned to that attitude by the land of plenty and environment infinitely resourceful Yet ones best friend likes to hear an appreciative word, while a compliment deserved and paid to an outsider will often convert a neutral into a friend. And remember, that appreciation, like charity, begins at home. The prince of good fellows is a failure and a hypocrite unless he lives his reputation under his own roof. Many a woman covers a heavy heart with a wry smile as she hears what a grand guy her husband is down town! So, spread appreciation around! Not too thick, of course, but evenly. The encouraging word is about as great a miracle worker as the old world knows.
