P. H. Ensign, general superin- tendent of mills, said the chief project involves increasing the mobility of the present spray system. He said $22,000 worth of aluminum pipe had been ordered and is expected to be received in obout two months. The 3,040 feet of will replace heavy cast-iro- n convey ter to the J3 interconnected ro- covering approxi- mately 100 acres of the tailings pond. In addition, 12 new giant spray nozzles have been ordered at a cost of $1,200. However, the. water spray sys-pitern put into effect in 1953 has proved to be the most satisfactory yet tried. Indications during 1954 were that the sprays substantially reduce the dust which is normally lifted from the dry areas during a wind storm. Plans include improvement of the present sprays and the installation of a master feeder line along the south edge of the pond. The dry areas occur near, the west dge of the pond uth the mills where the more coarse tailings settle.
