Garfield think back ores the 10 years tinea the townsile and the homesteads were first opened to settlers. Why have Magna and Hunter grown strong? Why have these com muniiies risen to the fore when others lagged behind? Economic reasons are important, of course. But there are other reasons. One of those is the fact that our forefathers both here and in their former homes recognised and called upon the spiritual help that stems from Him whoso resurrection is commemorated this Easier season. Magna. Hunter and Garfield churches, their leaders, their congregations are a stabilising force in our communities. When the Magna Chamber of Commerce has an occasion to "point with pride" one of the first assets always is the community of churches that thrive here. And this area thrives because of them. Richness of life, strength of traits of character abound here. spirit faith in the future-the- se succored from a well spring that flows from our churches. The y of strengthening our dtisenry by the good works and influence of our churches adds Immeasurably to the worth of our communities. Without favor to one group or another, the Magna Chamber of Commerce commends the combined "influence-toward-good- " that is exercised by our strong church organisations. Their charitable works are important from the local basis. And equally important to the Chamber ol Commerce and to all who live here or who contemplate living here w the kind of community that exists, partly because of tha firm foundation built on strong, local churches. . . This Easter and all the year we urge your support of local churches which in turn support the people and , the community. . . The Miracle of Easter. 1157 years ago guides and strengthens the hands of those helping to bring about progress, yea. even some lesser miracles in the Magna-Huntarea. day-to-da- Rererend Harr ay Magera Jehorah's Witnesses er Rererend William P.
