Social security and industrial pensions are helping those who retire make necessary adjustments in their living. Statistics indicate two out of five men and four out of five women still have incomes of less than $1,000 a year, and with inflation taking a bigger and bigger bite out of these small incomes, the problems of age become more complex. Several of our good friends are seeking pictures of the old Hawthorn School, which was later converted into an LDS ward in Magna, and then torn down. If you have such a picture, may wo borrow itf It may bo left at the Copper Printing Company office and excellent care will be taken of same and returned quickly. Don't Depreciate Our Townl Some residents have a habit of depreciating our town. When a stranger asks you if yours is a good town, dont reply, "Oh, its Then is the time all right, but--!- " to relate the advantages of living in one of the best towns in the county. And we have countless advantages, if youll just stop and take stock. But being a defeatist will help nobody yourself or anyone. Magna and Hunter need people to build not to tear down. You can be an ambassador of good-wil- l, if youll just take time to do so. Pity is an aristocratic virtue: it looks down upon the suffering of others. Compassion is tjm democratic virtue; it shares suffering and pain and feels it as its own. j MAGNA WOMAN WINS LINE Cyprus Slates CONTEST BY SKYLARK BREAD; TRIP TO HAWAII Annual Spring Concert April 10 Number Forty-tw- o CHAMBER SPONSORS MOTHER OF THE YEAR CONTEST FOR THE AREA A spirited and hotly contests election is rxpccled when Magna choral voters of all ages will go to the Cyprus high school groups will present their annual polls to select Magna's Morticr PROVES of the Year." spring concert on Wednesday, H.
