Born in Satford, Arizona, Mr. Cluff graduated from the Junior College at Gila, Arizona, and first went to work for the Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company at Miami, Arizona. He was first employed by the Utah Copper Company on August 24, 1917, as a carpenter helper at the Magna plant. On July 22, 1922, he entered the Accounting Department as a stock clerk and held successive positions in that de partment as payroll clerk, head clerk, paymaster, plant accountant and payroll accountant, which was the job he held prior to his new appointment. Mr. Cluff studied Business Administration at the University of Utah, Extension Division. Active in community affairs, he helped organize and was the first trea surer of the Magna Garfield Community Chest, served as chairman and oommittceman of the Oquirih District Boy Scouts of America, president of the Cyprus PTA and is a former member of the Magna-GarfieLions Club.
