Sevy and others were part of the schools Career Day, which was held Nov. 16. Bryce Valley Elementary Holds Nov. 16 Career Day Fifteen presenters were on hand Friday to explain each of their careers as Bryce Valley Elementary held Career Day from 8:30 to 11:30, for all of the students. The students learned about aviation from Greg Pollock, agriculture from Tyce Palmer and banking from Wes Clarke. Mclain Mecham showed a video of some of his experiences as a hunting guide and Russell Bulkley demonstrated how he preserved animals in his taxi dermy business. Eric Sevy told the students about being a baker and gave out delicious samples, while George Thompson let students climb into his big cement truck. Ken Piatt and Gary Johnson explained some of the jobs in the telephone company and let the students draw for prizes. Mary Stonaker answered questions about dental hygiene, Merilee Mecham helped student style hair Escalante Sheriff's Deputy Dave Jones talked about law enforcement, which included a trip to his car and the sound of his siren and Rick Wallen showed slides related to his work as a biologist. Kevin Poe shared the many aspects of being a park ranger and Terry Tolbert helped the students stu-dents identify plants and understand under-stand the work of a range manager. man-ager. Bryce Valley Elementary's own art teacher Estelle Roberge told the students about being anartist. |
