Show Panguitch News By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 Thanks to Barbara Talbot for helping with last week's column while Mamie spent 10 days up north. The Dennis and Karen Talbot Williams family from South Jordan were here to visit mom, Mamie Talbot. They also spent a day at the Grand Canyon and were thrilled with the vast beauty of it and watching the storms move over the canyon. Karen was especially happy to spend time in her home town and with the family visited the local cemetery and learned something of their ancestors and heritage. On returning home, David and wife, Connie left early to prepare to move into housing at Brigham Young University. Dennis and sons, Aaron and Seth, went by way of Escalante to see the Moqui cliff dwellings and on through Capitol Reef National Park. Karen and the girls, Miriam and Kellie, took grandma, Mamie north by the shorter route. Barbara Talbot had just spent several days taking a botany and geology class sponsored by Southern Utah University at Bryce, Zion and Grand canyons and then went north to bring Mamie back home. We're glad to be back to cooler country. Don and Carol Bunker were in Orem for the LDS mission farewell of their nephew, Nathan Cooper who is called to the Portugal mission. mis-sion. He is a son of Frank and Maxine Cooper and has been playing play-ing basketball for Brigham Young University. His coach and part of the team were there to bid the popular popu-lar and talented young man goodbye. good-bye. Also there were Carol's sister Dorothy and husband Art Chidester and brother Kenneth Cooper from Denver. The four offspring of the late George and Cora Cooper of Panguitch were happy to be together. to-gether. Kenneth will be remembered remem-bered for his outstanding ability on the piano and he performed memorably memo-rably at the mission farewell. The Bunkers were also glad to have her uncle and aunt Gene and Helen Domager here visiting from Sun City, Calif. Helen is Cora Cooper's sister. Hilma Excell has had Max and Glenda Excell of Shoshone, Ida. here and Evan and wife Nickey Excell also of South Jordan and their family, Bryan and Jennie Reese and baby of Colorado; Jeff and Jodi Breese, Clearfield; Justi, Jessi, and Jill Excell of South Jordan; Bruce and Sue Douglas, Richfield all here for Tara Excells high school graduation. The single girls enjoyed helping uncle Greg Excell with the cattle on the range. Along with Jane Excell's sisters, Linda and Joan and mother, Margaret Greenleaf, they all enjoyed a big dinner at Greg and Jane's home. Oh yes, Jodi Breese received her masters degree from Weber State University on June 7. Art and Beverly Crosby went to Albuquerque, N.M. for the wedding of their granddaughter, Michele Pings. She is a daughter of Ed and Kathy Crosby Ping. Art and Beverly also met son Bill in Kanab and he drove them, along with daughter Gayleen. Kelly and Cherie Wood and their three children followed fol-lowed them. Steve Crosby and wife, Bettie flew in for the wedding (See Panguitch News on Page 7A) Panguitch News Fr. Page 6 also. Long time friends Tom and Kay Hatch and Kristie Bulkley and two friends who Michele went to school with at Utah State University also made the journey. Michele received her masters degree ' in speechology on May 15 and was married May 25 to Brian Drake. |
