Show Fires Put Sawmill, Prospectors Out Of Business Two fires caused considerable" damage In the Powell and Wldtsoe districts of the Dixie National Forest, but were brought under control before spreading Into the standing i timber. The first blaze occurred Thursday morning wheu the camp of a couple of prospectors went U3 In a.blaze which consumed their Jeep, tent, bed rolls, rifle, pistols, gleger counter and much other valuable gear, The men, Identified as a Mr Kox of New York and a Mr Young of California, had set up camp west of the road between Steeds' Y and Widteoe After rooking breakfast they went over the rim with their gleger counters to look for uranium, Clouds of smoke - and popping j f thtlr ammunition first trd them of tiouble in can They returne'd to find the jeep blazing out of control. While one j ran to the "Y" to give the alarm j the other stayed behind to fight the fire. It ls.estlmated that $1600 forth of equipment went up In smoke.
