Show Mel ford Ahlstrom TROPIC - Melford Ahlstrom, 71, Tropic, died Oct. 13, 1980, in a Pangutich hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1909, Tropic, to Joseph Walter and Elizabeth Pollock Ahlstrom. He married Rachel Dalley, Feb. 18, 1948, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a veteran of World War II. He owned and operate his own- service station and grocery store for many years. He served one term on the Garfield County Commission. He served as Panguitch Stake Mission president and stake superintendent of the Sunday School for many years. He served as Tropic Town clerk. Survivors: widow, Tropic; son, Melford Douglas, Tropic; two grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Glen, Ogden, LaVal Ahlstrom, Tropic; Jack Miller, Cedar City; Mrs. Alta Bybee, Las Vegas; Mrs. Mark (Reva) Rasmussen, Orem. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Tropic Ward chapel where friends may call two hours prior. Burial with military rites will be in the Tropic Cemetery by.sJ2tl.5, Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Donald (; tiffin ESCALANTE Funeral services for Donald Layne Griffin were held Thursday in the Escalante Ward chapel with Bishop Lynn Gates, officiating. DeLane Griffin offered the family prayer and Areola Gates played prelude and postlude music. Lorenzo Griffin, gave the invocation. Speakers were Kenneth Griffin, Leola Sewart, Lynn Rowley and Bishop Gates. Music included vocai trio by Deon Alvey, Marlene Haws and Geraldine Listen and a vocal, solo by Tracy Marshall. Steven King offered the benediction. Burial was in the Escalante Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where Orland Porter offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Randy Griffin, Lance Coleman, Charlie Mit- 1 chell, Pat Coughling, Scott Curtis and Dean Gledhlll. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Jenkins, Lynn Rowley, Marvin Porter, Steven King, Elston Castleman , and Frank Hopkins. Dell Cooper Dell Cooper, 61, Panguitch, died Oct. 15, 1980 in Cedar City. He was born May 3, 1919, Panguitch, to John Harve and Olive Lossee Cooper. He married Lissa Irene Harris, Nov. 10, 1945, Parowan. He was a heavy equipment operator, employed by the U.S. Forest Service. Survivors: widow, Panguitch, sons, daughter, Terry Dell, Escalante; Charles Ray, Mrs. Gary Dene (Karla Mae) Owens, both Panguitch; three grandchildren; brother, James H., Panguitch. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Pangutich Third Ward chapel where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will be in the Panguitch City Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, with military rites. |
