Show Billy Davis Dies Suddenly At Escalante William Leslie ("Billy") Davis, 70, died at his home In Escalante on Sunday.October 7, 1973, of natural causes. He was born on October 5, 1903, to William Edmond and Rhoda Schow Davis. He and Minnie Jane Alvey were married on December 21, 1926, at Junction, Utah, their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Mr. Davis was a member of the Escalante LDS North Ward and was serving as mayor of Escalante at the time of his death. He was a charter member and past president of the Escalante Lions Club, vice president of the Valley Finance Company, and owner and operator of a grocery store. Surviving him are his widow, Escalante, daughters, Mrs. Al (Lcda Mae) Foster, Tropic, Mrs. Holbcrt (Bonnie Loo) Smith, Salt Lake City; 4 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Nell Barker, Escalante. Funeral services wars belt Oct 10 in the Escalante Norm ward chapel.
