Show 'Gold Medal Marriages' Sought for Marriage Week The Governor's Commission on Marriage is conducting its third annual recognition of "Gold Medal Marriages." A Gold Medal Marriage is one that is healthy and enduring, for better bet-ter or worse, through thick and thin, through time and experiences. experi-ences. In conjunction with Marriage Week USA (February 7-14), the Commission will select one couple from each county to be recognized at the annual Governor's Celebration of Marriage. All nominees, along with selected winners. will receive a letter of congratulation. congratu-lation. The "Gold Medal Winners" will receive free tickets tick-ets to the Feb. 1 3 conference and will be honored at thattime. Nominations for recognition of Utah's longest married couples cou-ples are also being sought. The Commission is seeking information informa-tion about Utah couples, still living, liv-ing, that have been married 75 years or longer. A short description descrip-tion is desired which should include when or how the couple met, interesting facts about their lives, challenges they faced as a couple, what has been most rewarding about their marriage and their secret for a happy, successful suc-cessful marriage. Please send submissions by Jan. 12 to: Governor's Commission on Marriage, 111 State Capitol, Salt Lake City, Utah ' 841 14-0608. The names, address, phone number and marriage mar-riage date should be included for each couple. Also needed are the name, address, and phone number of a contact person.
