Show Paulsens Celebrate I 50 Years of Marriage fl Mr. and Mrs. Hay 1 Paulsen, former I residents of Panguitch I and educators in I Panguitch schools, will H celebrate their golden I wedding anniversary with an open house Nov. I 20 at the Ephraim Second H Ward chapel from 2 to 5 H p.m. for all their friends I and relatives. B Mr. Paulsen was born I in Ephraim March 26, I 1910, the son of George I Peter and Bertha J. fl Paulsen. lie was I educated in local schools. He married the former fl Mae Paulsen, daughter of fl Mr. and Mrs. Oscar C. fl Paulsen. A native of B Ephraim, she graduated fl from Ephraim High fl School, from Snow I College with a certificate fl in education. fl The couple was I married Nov. 9, 1932, in fl the Manti LDS Temple. H They have five children H and 20 grandchildren. B Their children are George Paulsen, West Valley City; David H Paulsen and Dick M Paulsen, both of Orem; I Cherrie Dawn Dolphin, I Moab; and Jerry M Paulsen, Ephraim. BJ Mr. Paulsen was a H stockman and farmer in BJ Ephraim until 1947 when flj he resumed his BflflE BBBB Mr. and Mrs. Hay Paulsen education, graduating from Snow College in 1949 and from Brigham Young University in 1951 with a degree in sociology. He subsequently received a Master's degree in personnel and guidance and a secondary school certificate from BYU. His wife completed her bachelor's degree in elementary education at Utah State University. For 25 years the couple served as educators in Utah schools, teaching in Hanksville, Sunnyside and East Carbon City, in addition to Panguitch. They are now retired and reside in Ephraim. .Both have been active in the LDS Church, most recently serving as, missionaries at the Manti Temple Visitors Center. Mrs. Paulsen has par- 4,' ticipated in various literary guilds and organizations for prefessional women. Mr. Paulsen has sung in community and church choirs. Both enjoy writing and Mr. Paulsen was employed for several years as a special correspondent for the Salt Lake Tribune. |
