Show BsOJHm .yMHBMtf isslssssssssssOOOOi Mr and Mrs. Maurice Cope Former Tropic Pair To Note 69th Wedding Date TROPIC An open house will be held at 750 Bast 33rd South, Salt Lake City, Saturday to celebrate the Wth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Cope, formerly of Tropic now of Salt Lake City. The family requests no gifts please. The Copes were married November 19, 1906 in Tropic; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Cope went on a mission to England and Wales after their marriage. Mr Cope was born February 24. 188S, in Panguitch to Thomas II and Amelia Lloyd Cope. He was educated in Tropic, Brigham Young University and University of Utah. He worked for the Park Service for 25 years spending the first 18 years at Bryce Canyon National Park and the next seven at Zlon National Park. At age 65 he retired after which they moved to Salt Lake City where he worked another 18 years as clerk In the LDS church office building, Since retiring from the church offices he enjoys studying, working around the home and gardening. Mrs. DeEsta Cope was born February 4. 1897, in Kanab to Joseph and Elizabeth Ewell Stewart. She was educated In Tropic schools. She has always been very active In church and civic work, she does some handwork. The Copes are parents of nine children, eight living: Maurice, Montebello, Calif; Gwen, Mrs. Chris (Rhea) Jensen, Gene, Max and Kenneth all 6L Salt Lake City; Mr. Mark (Edna) Crosgrove, Draper; Grant, Zion National Park.The couple has 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. |
