Show Area Obituaries Noreen C. Evans ST. GEORGE HATCH, Utah Noreen Clark Evans, age 92, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 in St. George, Utah. She was born June 13, 1911 in Glendale, Utah to Sessie Merrill and Thomas George Clark. She married Lynn "Charley" Evans on July 19, 1930 in Panguitch, Utah, later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He died Dec. 26, 1997. Noreen was an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church, serving in many presidency and teacher positions in both the Young Women, s and Relief Society. She also played the organ for the church for over 60 years. She was well known for her beautiful beauti-ful flower gardens and well kept home and yard. She loved to plant flowers as early as possible possi-ble in the spring, and always had a good garden to share with all her neighbors and friends. She especially enjoyed being with her family and loved to take care of their needs in a loving way. Noreen is survived by her children Clark (Elsie) Evans of Washington, Utah, Shirlene (Ervin) Jensen of Henderson, Nev., Gwen Crofts of St. George, Ireta (Richard) Tubbs of St. George, and Deloy ALTON Erma (Grams) Baker passed away peacefully in Alton on Dec. 17, 2003. She was born Oct 30, 1919 in Midvale, Ida. to Lloyd Melvin Newman and Myrtle Walker. Raised during the Depression, Erma worked hard and always looked put for others. oth-ers. In her youth she enjoyed playing on the Weiser HS Basketball and Tennis teams and loved being outdoors. She married mar-ried Dr. Jess R. Baker on Nov. 10, 1938. They made their first home in Ontario, Ore. Erma often sewed clothing her children chil-dren wore, and always grew an abundant garden. She was also an excellent pilot and archer. Erma loved reading and learned Spanish in her later years. Erma loved her family, her religion, .and her country S.be faithfully served in many capac--' ities in the LDS Church. Her home was always warm because she was there. After the death of her sweetheart, Jess, she and her daughter Maxine moved to Alton to live with her daughter Lorinda. She is survived by her six children: Vic Baker of Carson City, Nev., Terry Baker of Salt Lake City, (wife Patty); Lorinda Baker Luck of Alton, (husband Shane); Leta Bea Baker of Corvallis, Ore.; Melvin Baker of Payette, Ida. (wife Sue); Maxine Baker of Alton; 15 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 24 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Leta Boltman Shafer, Woodburn, Ore.; Eula French, Isaqua, Wash.; Goldie Lehman, San Rafael, Calif.; Agnes Eisenbarth, Brigham City; Joan Wilber (husband Don) Post Falls, Ida.; two broth- ' h - : ' .v - Noreen Evans (Jolene) Evans of Hurricane, Utah; 31 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charley, four grandsons, grand-sons, six brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 22, 2003 at 12:00 Noon at the Hatch Utah LDS Chapel. Viewing will be from 11:00-11:45 AM at the Chapel. Burial will be in the Hatch Cemetery under the direction direc-tion of Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab. Erma M. Newman Baker 4 - A . Baker; her parents, par-ents, Lloyd and Myrtle Newman; one brother, Noel Newman; seven brothers in law, Mark Shafer, Royal Boltman, Wayne French, Charles Lehman, Dale Eisenbarth, Don Wilber, Orval Baker, Alvin Baker, Albert Baker; and Jess, parents, John Baker and Nora Tolman Baker Parker. Funeral services were held Tues, Dec 23, 2003 in Ontario, Ore. Interment was in the Rosedale Memorial Cemetery in Payette, Ida. under the direction of Haran-Wood Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Monday, Dec -29, 2003 at 12 noon at the Alton Ward Chapel. |
